WHY MOTORHOMING AND THE CHRISTMAS BREAK?

Taking the motorhome away at Christmas isn’t just a holiday — it’s a whole different kind of magic. While everyone else is juggling crowded shops and overcooked sprouts, you’re waking up to quiet frosty mornings, steaming mugs of tea and views that feel like your own private winter postcard. There’s something wonderfully freeing about swapping the usual festive chaos for crisp countryside air, twinkling campsite lights and the cosy glow of your own little home‑on‑wheels.

Travelling at Christmas turns simple moments into memories: a walk through a sleepy village decorated with fairy lights, a pub lunch by a roaring fire, or cooking Christmas dinner in a space so small it becomes part of the fun. Campsites feel friendlier, too — everyone’s in the same festive spirit, sharing stories, mince pies and the odd “look what we forgot to pack” laugh.

And the best part? You set the pace. Stay put for a peaceful retreat or hop between scenic spots, chasing sunsets, markets and winter views. No rigid schedules, no pressure, just the joy of being together somewhere special.

A motorhome Christmas is cosy, calm and wonderfully different — the perfect way to make the season feel like an adventure again.

To see the slideshow of older blog header images see here , thanks for looking. It has music as well, especially if you like trad folk?

Here are some more modern videos (c 2026) showing some of the future trips, indeed we have been away at Xmas quite often with family, not as yet in the motorhome, but I can see no reason why not, many people do
